THE SONG PARAMETERS MENU

KEY SIGNATURE - Should be set before beginning note entry. Cursor to and select the key signature of the song. This can also be reset at any time by pressing SHIFT/K. The current key signature will appear at the top of the Editing Screen.

TIME SIGNATURE - Sets number of beats per measure (top number) and number of beats per whole note (bottom number). Use the key to set each. The "-" and "+" keys can also be used to increase or decrease the value. Once the time signature is set, measure markers are automatically inserted when the correct beat has been entered in a measure. The exception is when UTL or UTV commands/notes are used (the next measure marker must then be entered manually). When the correct beat has not been entered in a measure, the next marker will not be inserted. Instead, the beat number and either a "-" or "+" will be displayed at the top of the screen. You should then check that measure and correct it. As a measure marker is inserted, a "click" is heard.

STAFF TYPE - Scrolls through the different staff types, which can be set for each voice.
